The trek to Langtang is the best decision one could make to experience nature, wilderness, and culture of the mountain. Not going very far away from Kathmandu; the capital city of Nepal; the Langtang trek offers the trekkers with an opportunity to explore one of the least explored trekking destination in Nepal.
The trek is a classic trekking destination for someone who is excited to explore the unique mountain lifestyle and culture. Only 32 kilometers away from the capital city, the Langtang is isolated from the crowd and hustle of the city and gives the sense of real pleasure and adventure.
The Langtang trek is full of cultural and natural appreciations. The authentic Tamang culture of the region attracts the tourists. The similar to Tibetan lifestyle of the Sherpa and Tamang people in the region will give a sense of the impact of Tibetan culture in the area.
The trekkers will see traditionally painted houses, the yak farms, carved wooden porches and the beautiful Gompas which add extra stars to the beauty of Langtang. The mountains also attract the tourist most. Walking through the beautiful rhododendron and pine forest, trekkers can also spot numerous animals such as red panda, musk deer, Ghoral, and birds such as Warbler, wood pecker, pheasant, drove and many more.
The pleasing walk will be supplemented by the incredible views of the snowcapped mountains, the pristine Gosaikunda Lake, alpine meadows, and several Gompas in the valley.
DAY 1 – ARRIVE KATHMANDU
You will be met at the airport and be taken to the hotel. You may relax or explore until the group meets at dinner.
DAY 2 – TOUR AROUND KATHMANDU
After breakfast, you venture out for the full day sightseeing (6-7 hours) in a fascinating medieval city, its streets, bazaars, temples, shrines and Buddhist stupas are crowded with peoples of every creed, color and race. Rickshaws, taxis and hooting motorists add to the din and create that special atmosphere that Kathmandu is so famous for. You visit the Swayambhunath Temple (also known as the Monkey Temple) and the Durbar Square in the heart of the city. This is where the Kumari is. Many of Kathmandu’s most historic and important temples are located here. Next you will drive to Patan, once a beautiful city in its own right which rivaled Kathmandu in terms of the splendor of its temples and squares. You cross a bridge over the Bagmati River that links Kathmandu with the city of Patan, its neighbor to the south. Patan has more excellent architecture and has long been a centre of Newari craftsmanship. There will also be time to purchase any last minute supplies for the mountains.
DAY 3 – DRIVE FROM KATHMANDU TO SYABRU BENSI (1440 m) 8 HOURS DRIVE
After breakfast, we will start our journey towards Syabru Bensi. We will drive in a private vehicle. The drive is about 8 hours long and offers the trekkers with the beautiful scenario and the mountain views. You will witness the beauty of the snow capped Mt. Annapurna II, Manaslu, and other minor peaks along the way. Likewise, the green hilly landscapes, the rivers across the route and the villages make the route further beautiful.
Passing through the terraced field and the villages, the trip passes the Trishuli Bazaar. The tourists can still enjoy the Himalayan views while in the way to Trishuli Bazaar. We will take our lunch at Trishuli Bazaar and continue further towards the low land. We will descend for a while and pass Dhunche before we reach Syabru Bensi.

DAY 4 – SYABRU BENSI TO RIMCHE (2455 m) 6-7 HOURS HIKE
We will begin walking from today. We start our trek early in the morning. We will first encounter the Bhote Koshi River. The trail continues by crossing the Langtang Khola. We walk through the dense forest of bamboo and most probably see some Langur monkeys. May be you also encounter Red Pandas if you are lucky enough. After about almost 6 and half hours, we will reach Rimche at an altitude of 2455 meters. The location of the Rimche is perfect for the beautiful view of the valley. We will be staying in Rimche for the night. So, you can also explore the nearby Sherpa settlement in the village in some spare time in the evening.

DAY 5 – RIMCHE TO LANGTANG (3330 m) 5-6 HOURS HIKE
After having breakfast in the morning, we will start our trek by a gentle climb. The trail will take the trekkers to the Gore Tabela in the middle of the valley. Trekkers will also see the Royal Army Base Camp where they guard the animals of the National Park.
Walking along the trail, we can see the Himalayan peaks such as Langtang Lirung in the north. We will also see Lakpa Dorje, Langtang I, Langtang II and several other peaks. We also walk along the alpine meadows and ascend towards Langtang. You will pass through traditional villages. The local lifestyle is Tibetan and people follow Buddhism. Continuing our trek, we will soon reach Langtang village. You may also encounter some animals like red panda, Langur monkeys, and red bulbul on the way.

DAY 6 – LANGTANG TO KYANJIN GOMPA (3730 m) 4-5 HOURS HIKE
We will pass through small village with stone-built houses. Along the way comes a Chorten; a Buddhist Monument. We pass through the Mani stones which are inscribed with the Tibetan chant. The trail continues to a glacial valley which offers beautiful views of the Kimshun, Tsenji Himal, Naya Kanga, Lakpa Dorji and Urkinmang.
Passing through the Sherpa settlement we will reach the Kyanjin Gompa. The mountains are more beautiful from here. The Kyanjin Gompa is famous for cheese factory nearby.

DAY 7 – A DAY IN KYANJIN GOMPA
We will spend a day around the Gompa. You can spend the relaxing or exploring the village. You can make a visit to Chergo Ri (5,000 m) which offer magnificent views of the mountains like Langtang, Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji and the bottom of the Lirung Glacier. You can also make a visit to the cheese factory.

DAY 8 –KYANJIN GOMPA TO LAMA HOTEL (2400 m) 5-6 HOURS TREK
We start our trek after breakfast we will start our trek back to Lama Hotel. We will follow the same path we followed when climbing the Langtang valley. We will reach the Lama Hotel for lunch. The remaining day is for rest and preparation for the next day.

DAY 9 – LAMA HOTEL TO THULO SYABRU (2100 m) 6 HOURS HIKE
Again we will follow the same trail back to the Langtang valley. The trail begins with a gentle descent and then starts to ascent through the pine and juniper forest. The trekkers will enjoy the beautiful views of the Langtang Himal and other peaks along the way. You might also encounter some Langur monkeys and several bird species such as Warbler, red bulbul, Dorngor and many others.

DAY 10 – THULO SYABRU TO SING GOMPA (3850 m) 6 HOURS HIKE
We will start early today. We begin uphill with the views of the Ganesh Himal and the Tibetan peak. The trail will pass through the Foprang Danda at 3200 meters as well as Dursagang at 2,660 meters. Several plants like rhododendron will be your friend along the trail. Also you will see the Lhokta plant whose branches are used to make Nepali paper. After some more time, we will finally reach Sing Gompa: today’s destination for us.

DAY 11 – SING GOMPA TO GOSAIKUNDA LAKE (4381 m) 5-6 HOURS HIKE
We will start our trek with an uphill climb. The rough trail will offer us with the Himal Chuli Manaslu views and Ganesh Himal. A clear day even offers with the Annapurna range views. The Langtang Lirung stands on the north.
The trek will first take us to the Laurebina Yak at 3920 meters. From here, you can enjoy the panoramic views of the Himalayan range of Nepal as well as Tibet. Continuing for some more time, we reach to a spot from where we will get the first glimpse of the Gosaikunda lake before us.
Gosaikunda is not only a single lake. Once you reach Gosaikunda, you will see a dozen of lakes. Among them, the major are Saraswatikund, Bharab Kunda and Gosaikunda. The lake is also a pilgrimage site for the Hinduism followers. According to stories, Lord Shiva created the lake when he pierced a glacier to quench his thirst after swallowing poison.

DAY 12: TREK TO DHUNCHE (1950) AND DRIVE TO KATHMANDU
We will accomplish a long walk today to reach Dunche. The walk will be pretty interesting. You will never be alone because there will be many pilgrimages walking along the path from different parts of the country.
DAY 13: DRIVE TO KATHMANDU (7 - 9 HOURS DRIVE)
We will go for a long drive today. After breakfast in Dhunche, we will now drive back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel.
DAY 14: LEISURE DAY
A spare day in Kathmandu will be a relaxing day after the successful completion of the long Rara Lake and Jumla trek. Since this will be your last day stay in Nepal, you can also enjoy the traditional dinner in Kathmandu. They provide beautiful environment with the cultural performances. Also, you can make a short trip around the Kathmandu city in the afternoon and have some snaps to add on some extra flavor to your trip.
DAY 15: DEPARTURE
Now this is time to go home. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
