The Langtang Gosaikunda trek is an amazing trekking experience specially designed as a combination of eye-catching landscape, Nepalese culture and the beautiful valley of Langtang. Langtang Gosaikunda Lake is one of the challenging treks in Nepal that takes the trekkers through the incredible journey to the holy lakes of Gosaikunda.
Starting the trek from Syabru Bensi, the trek will take the trekkers with an experience of the Sherpa culture and visit the Kyanjin and Sing Gompa. Far from the hustle and crowd of the city, the Langtang trek offers the trekkers with the sparsely populated Tamang people and their unique lifestyle and culture.
The Langtang Gosaikunda trek is best for the trekkers who want to explore the wilderness and the unique Nepalese culture. The journey includes long, steep and descent trail with the wide range of climate and vegetation. The trekkers will enjoy the trek through the sub-alpine forest, majestic mountains and the glaciers.
The pristine lakes including Gosaikunda (4460 m), Saraswatikunda and Ganeshkunda are the attractions of the trek. The trek is one of the best options reach the Himalayan peaks with the panoramic views of the Langtang. Along with the eye-catching landscape, the trek is also a wonderful experience of nature and wildlife. The trail through Rhododendron forest and pine trees, the honey hunter animals, Langur monkey and the waterfalls is a wonderful journey to accomplish. Trekkers will also have an opportunity to visit the cheese factory, and the village.
DAY 1 – ARRIVE KATHMANDU
You will be met at the airport and be taken to the hotel. You may relax or explore until the group meets at dinner.
DAY 2 – TOUR AROUND KATHMANDU
After breakfast, you venture out for the full day sightseeing (6-7 hours) in a fascinating medieval city, its streets, bazaars, temples, shrines and Buddhist stupas are crowded with peoples of every creed, color and race. Rickshaws, taxis and hooting motorists add to the din and create that special atmosphere that Kathmandu is so famous for. You visit the Swayambhunath Temple (also known as the Monkey Temple) and the Durbar Square in the heart of the city. This is where the Kumari is. Many of Kathmandu’s most historic and important temples are located here. Next you will drive to Patan, once a beautiful city in its own right which rivaled Kathmandu in terms of the splendor of its temples and squares. You cross a bridge over the Bagmati River that links Kathmandu with the city of Patan, its neighbor to the south. Patan has more excellent architecture and has long been a centre of Newari craftsmanship. There will also be time to purchase any last minute supplies for the mountains.
DAY 2 – KATHMANDU TO SYABRU BENSI (1440 m) 8 HOURS DRIVE
After an early morning breakfast, we will go for a long drive towards Syabru Bensi in a bus. The journey will gift the trekkers with the lovely scenario and the beautiful views of the mountains. Tourists will see the snow capped Mt. Annapurna II, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and other minor peaks along the route. The green hill landscapes, rivers and the villages add an extra beauty to the trip. Passing through the terraced field and rustic villages and enjoying the Himalayan views, the trip takes along the Trishuli Bazaar. After lunch at Trishuli Bazaar, we will continue heading towards low land and reach Dhunche. Further descending we will reach Syabru Bensi.

DAY 3 – SYABRU BENSI TO LAMA HOTEL (2450 m) 6-7 HOURS TREK
The first day of the trek starts by a police post where trekkers should register the trekking permit. The excitement of the first day is supplemented by the suspension bridge over the Bhotekoshi River. We take a right turn at the eastern end of the bridge and climb through the Old Syabru village. Another bridge occurs on our trail on the south of Langtang Khola.
The trek is a pleasant experience that passes through the trees with the lives of Langur monkeys. Passing across the small waterfall and the village inns beside a stream at Dovan at 1680 m, the trail starts getting steeper. We continue the steep uphill climb over the rocky ridge to the junction where the route from the Thulo Syabru joins. Continue climbing the uphill forest, pass the waterfall and a couple of lodge we pass the cluster of the Bamboo at 1930 meters after the landslide. After the Bamboo cluster, the trail continues to cross the Dangdung Khola and the suspension bridge over the Langtang Khola. Following the trail towards the north of the Langtang Khola, the uphill trail along the series of waterfalls, we will reach the Changtang; popularly known as Lama Hotel (2480 m).

DAY 4 – LAMA HOTEL TO LANGTANG VILLAGE (3430 m) 4-5 HOURS TREK
We will continue our trek starting with a gentle climb. The trail continues to follow the Langtang Khola and soon gets steeper. We will climb the steep uphill through the forest of hemlocks, pink and white Rhododendrons, oaks and maples. The mountain peak of the Mt Langtang Lirung (97244 m) seems to play hide and seek with the trekkers between the trees. We follow the trail through the long bridge and climb the lush meadows of Ghora Tabela (2992 m). The trekkers will have lunch admiring the beautiful view of the Langtang Lirung here.
Continuing to trek from the Ghora Tabela, we will ascend gradually to reach up to the U-shaped glacier. Moving further, trekkers will cross the helipad and the yak pastures and climb the rhododendron woods and the Tamang village. The trail also crosses a stream, several water mills and the prayer flags on the way and then finally reaches the large settlement of Langtang (3430 m). Here lies the headquarters of the Langtang National Park. The flat-roofed Tibetan style houses with the beautifully carved windows are worth making a walk around the village. The buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley fields surround the village. You can easily find the yaks and wild goats wandering around you.

DAY 5 –LANGTANG VILLAGE TO KYANJIN GOMPA (3860 m) 2-3 HOURS TREK
Today’s trek is not so long and will take only the morning walk to reach our destination. The trail starts through a village and then climbs a ridge with a large Chorten on the top. Then we will ascend gradually cross a Mani wall, and cross a stream to reach Mundu village (3442 m). Further, several small streams occur on our way. Passing through the streams over the wooden bridges, you will get the sight of the Kyanjin Gompa and the huge icefall flowing from the Langtang Lirung and Kimsung peak.

DAY 6: ACCLIMATIZATION DAY IN KYANJIN GOMPA
We will spend a day exploring the around Kyanjin Gompa. We visit the monastery and the cheese factory. The surrounding of the Kyanjin Gompa offers a beautiful view of the Langtang Lirung (7246 m), Genjempol, Kyanjin RI (4750 m), Tsergo RI (5000 m), Ganja La (5160 m), Langshisha-Ri (6427 m), Dorje Lhakpa (6430 m), Naya Kang (5844 m), Yala peak (5500 m).
Trekkers also have a day hike options during the spare day. The most popular hike is the trek to Kyanjin RI viewpoint at 4600 meters. Or, trekkers can walk to the Tsergo RI 4984 meters which will be the highest point of the trek. There are other several hiking options for the day. The northern area of the surrounding has many isolated valleys to explore.
DAY 7 – KYANJIN GOMPA TO LAMA HOTEL (2480 m) 6 HOURS TREK
After breakfast, we will follow back the same trail. The beautiful snow capped mountains lie beautifully on the way. The trail will lead us to the Langtang Khola and then to the Langtang village. Continuing to descend from the village, we reach the Ghora Tabela and then finally to the Lama Hotel.

DAY 8 –LAMA HOTEL TO THULO SYASBRU VILLAGE (2260 m) 6-7 HOURS TREK
After breakfast, we start our trek descending along the river and then to the landslide. The trail passes through the pine and juniper forest. The trail then gets steep until we reach the Thulo (Big) Syasbru village. The way to the village also offers the trekkers with the glimpse of the Red pandas, boar, monkeys, and several species of birds.
The Thulo Syasbru is a beautiful village that preserves the authentic custom, traditions and culture of the Tamang people. The Thulo Syasbru is also regarded as the Tamang Cultural Heritage. Also, the fantastic landscapes and the spectacular views of the Ganesh Himal (7110 m) and the Langtang Himal make the village more scenic.

DAY 9 – THULO SYASBRU VILLAGE TO SING GOMPA (3250 m) 3-4 HOURS TREKe
Firstly, we begin with a steep ascent path that passes through the Dursagang (2735 m) and the lines of Chortens. The breathtaking views of the Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, and the Tibetan mountain occur during the trail. The trail then continues steeply through the oak and rhododendron forest. After the forests, the trail turn a bit less steep and goes through the pastures to the top of the Phoparng Danda ridge (3190 m). The Langur monkeys actively play here and there in the forest. You can also get a beautiful view of the sun setting over the Ganesh Himal. The trail will go through the moss-covered forest and then a gentle ascend for some time and then again a flat level will take us to the Sing Gompa. The Buddhist monasteries are the places to explore with the beautiful views and pristine nature.

DAY 10 – SING GOMPA TO GOSAIKUNDA LAKE (4360 m) 4-6 HOURS TREK
After breakfast in Sing Gompa, we start our trek climbing the steep ridge. The ridge is a transition between the rich, moist mountain forest and the dry scrub vegetation on the slope. The red pandas have their home in the slope and the view of the Ganesh Himal is majestic. The further steep trail for three hours will take us to Lauri Binayak (3920 m). As we follow the rough path, we will see the dramatic west Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan peak and the Langtang Lirung.
After Lauri Binayak, the trail begins to ascend towards the alpine region above the tree line. After crossing a small ridge, trekkers will have the first sight of the holy Gosaikunda Lake. It is believed that Lord Shiva created the lake when he pierced a glacier in order to quench of thirst after swallowing poison. This is because; the Gosaikunda Lake has a great religious value. Hundreds of devotees come here to worship and take a holy bath during the full moon day festival every August. There are also many other lakes surrounding the Gosaikunda Lake namely Saraswatikunda, Bhairabkunda, and Gosaikunda.
DAY 11 – GOSAIKUNDA LAKE TO SING GOMPA (3250 m) 4-5 HOURS TREK
The trail descends all the way to the Sing Gompa via Lauri Binayak. The trail will pass through the rhododendron and pine forest and the magnificent views of the Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Manaslu range, Tibetan peak and Hiunchuli.

DAY 12 – SING GOMPA TO DHUNCHE (2090 m) 5-6 HOURS TREK

Today’s trek is more fun filled and enjoyable. We will walk through the rhododendron, pine and Himalayan Bamboo trees. The trail will drop the trekkers to the Dhunche village.
DAY 13 – DHUNCHE TO KATHMANDU 6-7 HOURS DRIVE
We will drive to Katmandu from Dunche. The drive is about 6-7 hours long. Upon arrival to Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel.
DAY 14 – LEISURE DAY AT KATHMANDU
A spare day in Kathmandu will be a relaxing day after the successful completion of the long Rara Lake and Jumla trek. Since this will be your last day stay in Nepal, you can also enjoy the traditional dinner in Kathmandu. They provide beautiful environment with the cultural performances. Also, you can make a short trip around the Kathmandu city in the afternoon and have some snaps to add on some extra flavor to your trip.
DAY 15 – FINAL DEPARTURE
Well, you vacation now comes to an end. We will give you a short farewell and our representatives will drop you to the Tribhuvan International Airport for your convenience.
